In October Fredrik Evensen (Nor) and Alex Tank (Ger) came to the UK to ride in some of the domes.
The first stop was for the TSA Big Bang in Braehead. Members of the public were able to to “Bag a Pro” and get the chance to be coached by the Head internationals.
In the evening, Burton held their High 5 event. The lads were joined by UK Head riders Danny McCormick, Stef Nurding and Greg Samuels.
The evening was topped off nicely as Danny took 3rd place.

The next stop was Hemmel for next 2nd leg of the High 5 then to Milton Keynes the following day for the next Big Bang.

The guys had a great time and found it interesting to ride in our fridges.

Especially great on the Glam Rocka which read: “made turning so easy i forgot that i was doing it.

The park crew bashed the jump down after that session and were left with a huge pile of snow, so what better to do than shape it in to a quarter pipe.

They finished it for the mountain closing day which was the 25th of April so as you can imagine the conditions were very summery. With the reggae blasting out of the sound system and the snow softening up quickly every one was in high spirits. The quarter was small with quite a lot of compression and it was under vert, people were flying out the top and splatting like lemmings.

In between the splats of people bouncing off the coping there were some good tricks being thrown down. Here are some shots of Stef Nurding and Dan Wakeham:

The snow got slow and the quarter started to fall apart so every one went down to the bar and enjoyed the closing day festivity’s. A good day had by all!

No-one envies the first person to speed test an obstacles with an intimidating gap to the landing that is two cats wide, but Wakeham manned up and hit it first.

Wakeham says:

“Everyone was kinda hanging out at the top, waiting for someone to make a move, its was early, I was pumped up and ready to go, so I thought f**k it. All I had in my mind, was that I wanted to clear that gap and I did! I flew right to the far corner of hip, landed on my feet, but my nose sank into the already soft crud and I had a bit of a tumble banging my head. On the drag back up I was seeing stars, but carried on nether the less and it was a rad day.”

A hyped crowd of spectators gathered at the bottom of the landing to cheer on and support the riders as they threw themselves off the monster booter, here are a few shots from the days events.

As you know, we have been raving about the FORCE I KERS snowboard a lot recently – the KERS offers you extra pop or extra push out of a turn by stiffening your tail when you need it most – and all on auto pilot. To celebrate this, HEAD UK have taken part in a collaboration with Lotus cars.

A bit out KERS and HEAD;

The KERS project was started a few years ago, with the wish of making the most technical and innovative board ever. Also, for next season HEAD are introducing a new line of Rocca boards, with graphics taken from the art work of New York based artist Justin Kauffmann aka JustinK.

“JustinK uses loud primary colors to conjure a cryptic urban ethos in which you can see the buildings, but you don’t know what’s in them; you know these people are humanoids, but not whether they see you; you can tell the marks are a kind of writing, but you can’t decipher it. Painted figures are defaced with large print numbers whose significance is impossible to determine; inscrutable digits are all over JustinK’s work. As they become obsolete, expired, or broken, industrial products (and personal identities – in short, anything constructed) are transformed: what was once specific and necessary information (serial numbers, ad copy, logo’s) becomes arbitrary, useless, and inscrutable. Then we live with it.”
